“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
“Woe to you, Chō-rāzin! Woe to you, Beth-sāi-da! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tȳre and Sīdon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
“The men of Nine-veh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
