Micah 7:7–8 Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.



You may feel like you’re sitting in darkness right now, but know that the Lord is your light and will cause you to rise. But first you may have to do what Micah did in verse 7—look to the Lord and wait for God, knowing that He will hear you!

We can’t always appreciate being on the bright mountaintop of victory and fellowship with the Lord if we never experience the darkness of the valley and the difficult journey to get up that mountain. It’s a struggle and it takes all that’s in us, but our muscles get stretched and we end up stronger than when we began. And once we get there, we see things from a different perspective and can rejoice in the experience.



May the Lord strengthen and sustain you in every step of the journey you’re
